Junior Cricket

Junior cricket at Bolton Villas Cricket Club has been discontinued.

BVCC run junior sections at the following age groups: U9 (soft-ball friendlies only) plus U11, 13 & 15 competing in the Bradford Junior League. Our philosophy is to be competitive but to play within the spirit of cricket. We aim to teach new skills, encourage friendships, promote teamwork and pass on the unique enjoyment of the game of cricket. To quote football manager Jose Mourinho – “In England you teach your kids how to win. In Spain and Portugal we teach them how to play.”

All team coaches are current players and all of us are volunteers. What you pay is deliberately kept low to encourage all who wish to play plus all the club’s funds go into improving the facilities which are amongst the best in Bradford.

The club has a twin-lane artificial practice area plus a dedicated grass wicket for junior practice. We also have a bowling machine, catching net and other training aids to make Monday night practice varied, fun and safe. All training and match day equipment is provided by the club so playing cricket need not be expensive.

The club is family focused and has many social events throughout the year. We have a beautiful ground and encourage all the family to come and watch the games. As a parent, you will find a very warm welcome at the club.

We welcome new members and also work with several local primary schools delivering the English Cricket Board’s flagship Chance to Shine. Currently, we are working with Blakehill, Low Ash and St Francis primaries promoting cricket in the state school sector. New partnerships are always welcomed.

Come and find us and if you need further information not contained here please email us through this website.
