BVCC Juniors 2016 – Parental information

Dear Parents

As coaches we wanted to clarify a few things before we start this season’s fixtures and hope that we have your support and help where possible on match days especially. We have good numbers across all age groups so far this year so we will be trying to pick teams – where possible – from the specific age group concerned to engage as many as possible. If we ask a child to “step-up” make no mistake we will only do so responsibly and with a duty of care.

Our aim is to offer opportunity, fun and development to all not simply those few currently blessed with additional skills that may make us coaches look better. Today’s “journeyman” can often prove to be a “star” of the future. That said, make no mistake we play hard to win and we aim to be competitive in every game.

We will try to be as fair as possible but we should not be made to chase you for confirmation of availability; we think it is reasonable that, once we announce a team (we will try to do this Mondays as the norm) then you commit to reply to us no later than 6pm the following day to be fair to all.

If we pick a 12th man (13s and 15s only) then we would expect he/she to attend the game with the guarantee that they are on the team sheet first for the next game. We will also endeavour to get the player on the field if only to field for a part of the game so to be as inclusive as possible.

With regard to weather issues and postponements of either matches or training please try to register on our Facebook page or at least obtain your respective coach’s number – see https://www.boltonvillascricketclub.co.uk/junior-cricket/

Finally, if you have any issue with matters concerning your child and BVCC please feel free to discuss openly with your coach.

We look forward to your company and support plus the oncoming heatwave!

The Coaches
