Greyfox dissapointment for Villas

Our Greyfox team fell agonisingly short against Great Horton Church in a thrilling finish last Sunday.  GHC elected to bat first and after a slow start with tidy bowling from Devon and Paul Howks paced their innings well, hitting out in their final overs and finishing with a very decent score of 187 in 30 overs. Villas made a quick start with Willy scampering on to retire on 30, and with good contributions from Stockers, Peter Clarke and Rick Lawrence Villas looked to be just about ahead of the chase . Paul Meds falling to a dubious LBW appeal upheld  by the Australian umpire (he should have gone to Specsavers!) didn’t help our cause and the run rate slowed. With a run a ball needed off the final few overs we just couldn’t get ahead of the run rate and fell frustratingly short by 1 run.

A Headingley semi final is now out of our grasp but we still have the option of the Plate competition and a possible final at Scarborough.
